Eddie smiles again when Richie assures him that he's going to try. He doesn't let himself wonder how in the hell Richie's going to be able to afford a place and he doesn't let himself wonder how in the hell he'll be able to afford to leave the dorms to join him when he gets here. Eddie can worry incessantly about those things later. Right now, he'd really rather just focus on the fact that Richie actually wants to and that's a good thing.
"That sounds awesome," he agrees with Richie's idea readily. He takes another long pull on the beer bottle when Richie looks away so that he can check what flavors are in his bag. He's not going to try another one, no matter how delicious those sound to him, until he finishes this first one. Wasting beer sounds like alcohol abuse to Eddie, frankly, and he refuses to have any part in that.
Finishing the last of the beer with a mighty gulp that makes his head a little fuzzy and his stomach churn just a little, Eddie holds the empty bottle out to Richie almost proudly. "Gimme the fruity island fruit thing," he replies. That sounds like it'll be a hell of a lot more enjoyable. What's the point of drinking to get drunk if you can't even enjoy the ride?
Richie doesn't let himself wonder about how the fuck that he'll manage moving from Derry to a a city like this and affording a place for the both of them. His small jobs back home barely afforded him enough money to move out of his parents place and get a place downtown or the chance to move out of Derry itself. It was something to think about but not right now when he'd much rather focus on his boyfriend and getting as much time together as possible when they still had the time.
"Yeah?" He muses with another lopsided grin as he watches Eddie take another long swig of his beer and then another, larger gulp, as he finishes it off. He does as told and happily hands over the drink with a small chuckle.
"You enjoying yourself, Eds?" He sure hopes so considering everything they did today and everything that they had planned for tomorrow. It wouldn't be long before they had to head back home and then Eddie would leave again but this time it would be without him. He doesn't want to think about that right now- not when he had Eddie smiling and laughing.
"Yeah," he agrees. There's something comforting about Richie wanting to come along and maybe it's selfish, but he really hopes Richie can make it happen.
It isn't so much that Eddie's scared to move away from Mommy and finally strike out on his own but...well. He's never known anything else and it's a little overwhelming to think about the level of freedom he'll have for the first time in his life. That and, after all those years of conditioning, a part of him is actually scared not of the move, but of the freedom and how dangerous it could potentially be.
To Richie's question, Eddie shrugs and grins, twisting the top off the bottle and tossing it in the nearest wastepaper basket. "Yeah, aren't you?" he asks, lifting his eyebrows and taking a sip. A look of pleasant surprise crosses his expression and he cranes his neck back a little to look at the bottle as he pulls it away from his lips again. "Shit, that's actually really good, you wanna try it?" he asks, holding it out toward Richie.
